PAINTING WITH PASTELS

For me it is important that all my landscapes are painted in nature. I have chosen soft pastels to express myself, because they enable me to paint with pure dry colourpigments on the surface, and also, because this form of painting without a palette forces me to translate everything I see in reality into the colournuances of my pastels.
I prefer to work with the soft pastels by Schmincke or Sennelier on Canson or Ingrespaper, or on handmade paper, such as that made by Jean-Pierre Gouy.
